25/07/2022 – Le 55e Festival international d'échecs de Bienne – en mémoire de Peter Burri, collaborateur éminent pendant plus de quarante ans, décédé brutalement ce printemps - s'est terminé dimanche. Ce fut une édition extraordinaire tant sur le plan qualitatif que quantitatif: le Triathlon des Grands Maîtres (GMT) et le Tournoi des Maîtres (MTO) ont accueilli des participants d'exception qui offert des échecs digne de leur statut de meilleurs joueurs mondiaux. Avec 931 participants, le Festival a attiré à Bienne un nombre de joueurs encore jamais atteint au cours de ce siècle dans l'enceinte du Palais des Congrès. Au total, 37 pays et 5 continents étaient représentés!
